LONGEVITY TRAINING

As an advanced student of the renowned  Partnership Training Equestrian Schools, conducted and owned by Cyril Pittion-Rossillion and Lynn Palm , and a graduate of the Partnership Training Bronze Level Affiliate program Jennifer has adopted Cyril and Lynn's principles of establishing a life long relationship with you and your horse. This is a horse friendly technique of teaching your horse everything from basic ground work to flying lead changes. We accept both young and schooled horses for this schooling, with a minimum of a 90 day commitment. The fee for this is $750 per month which includes not only the training but the board as well.

Whatever your goals may be for you and your horse, we want to help you realize them, and have fun while doing so!

STARTING YOUNG HORSES - GROUNDWORK

Your horse will learn to be comfortable with it's handler. This will include ground tying, grooming, bathing, and clipping. From here we will progress to the actual groundwork, a critical factor in establishing the trust and partnership between you and your horse.

Emphasis is put on longeing sessions in order for you to gain your horse's trust and confidence. In a friendly, non-threatening environment, your horse will learn to be comfortable with understanding and responding to voice commands and body language. Longeing can also be used to correct bad habits the horse may have acquired.

Jennifer emphasizes on starting young horses slowly and not rushing their training. Each horse is evaluated and from there Jennifer can see what their potential is and what discipline they would be best suited for. In doing that Jennifer will help you achieve your goals you have for your youngster.

ADVANCING THE SCHOOLED HORSE

This is just a sample of what each horse will acheive when being trained at Heritage Acres Farm. Jennifer customizes an individual training program for each horse and rider.

We will refresh your horse's skills with advanced groundwork and longeing. This includes perfecting turn on the forehand, leg yielding, turn on the haunches. Also using ground poles and elevated poles while working in hand and longeing.

Under saddle work will include advancing the canter in the arena and on the trail, introducing leg yielding at the trot, and teaching the horse to respond with the lightest of aids. These are just a few examples of what exercises will be done when working with your horse.

Each horse that comes to Heritage Acres Farm will have it's own customized training program while here. Jennifer gives a weekly update to all clients on how their horse is progressing while in training.

YOUNG HORSE TRAINING

This is just a sample of what each youngter will experience when learning at Heritage Acres Farm. Jennifer customizes each training program specifically for your youngster.

Your horse will be ponied frequently with an experienced school horse aroung our trails in order to desensitize the horse from unfamiliar surroundings.

For example:
Your horse will be introduced to walk/halt, walk/trot, backing, turn on the forehand, and leg yielding at the walk.  Amoung other training exercises throughout the horses training progession.

These lessons will be started in an arena and, as the horse shows progress, will be taken out on to the trail.

Just like the older horse, Jennifer customizes each training program for the young and unbroke horse.
